In Singapore, all dog owners are legally required to register and license their dogs.
This system was previously managed by the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA), and is now overseen by the National Parks Board (NParks).

Today, the responsibility falls under NParks’ Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS).

Why Is It Mandatory?

  • Serves as a legal identification system for your dog
  • Enables faster recovery if your dog is lost (via microchip tracking)
  • Links vaccination and health records
  • Failure to register may result in fines of up to SGD 5,000

Singapore maintains strict regulations when it comes to pet ownership.
